What brand of inline skates has the buckles rather than laces?
I used to have inline skates that were a bit like ski boots- they had buckles. Newer skates all seem to have shoelaces which I hate, because they easily get loose. What brand of in-ine skate makes the kind with the ski boot type buckles? Not sure if they were Rollerblades brand...
The buckles were needed when the skate boots were hard plastic.
With soft boots (much preferable for fitting your feet well) laces work well and can be adjusted to the shape of your feet.
If the laces are coming loose, that is a lace tying problem. I have seen a few people that were tying a granny bow instead of a square bow. It is really easy to learn that way.
If the bow is slightly tilted, you have a granny bow. If so, go back to the first step of crossing the laces together before you actually tie the bow and reverse the wind direction on them.
Some laces are more prone to slipping but I have yet to see a problem with a proper square bow on them.
Some skates also come with Kevlar laces that fasten without tying. Rollerblade has some with a pull mechanism near he heel (just got those for my girlfriend) and others have a slider to hold them (my old Solomons). The Kevlar laces have the advantage that they are really quick to tighten evenly since they slide through all the eyelets by being pulled from the top.
The only ones you are going to find with buckles are really poor skates or for little children.
